Boys Varsity Golf Fall 2018-2019 Information.

Golf for high school and middle school can be played year round in Kentucky.  For KHSAA, golf is a fall sport.  In spring and summer, there are several tour options:

Kentucky PGA Junior Tour

U.S. Kids Golf Golden Triangle Local Tour

Bluegrass Golf Tour

If a player has played golf but not competed in organized events, a great option is to join a PGA Jr. League team.  Not all courses sponsor a team, but you can search here to find options.

Another fun competition for junior golfers is the Drive, Chip and Putt competition.  This is a one-time competition that is free to participate.

For beginners, please contact a local PGA Professional for lessons, clinics, & summer camps.  Most golf courses in Jessamine County have teaching pros and can be reached by contacting the golf pro shop.

For any junior golfer, I recommend getting a Youth on Course membership.  Many golf courses in Kentucky will allow YOC members to play golf at a rate of $5 or less per round.

On January 1, 2019 the Rules of Golf brought many new changes.  For a good summary of the changes , go to the USGA summary of Golf’s New Rules: Major Changes.

If you have any questions, please contact me at or 859-489-0521.  I will be happy to assist you with any questions about our golf program at West Jessamine and how to best help your junior golfer learn to play this great game!
